COL FB: Tulane 28, East Carolina 18

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- J.P. Losman threw four touchdown passes Saturday to lift Tulane to a 28-18 victory over East Carolina in Conference USA.

Losman overcame five sacks and an interception to complete 14 of 20 passes for 227 yards as Tulane (5-7, 3-5) bounced back from last week's loss to Southern Mississippi.

East Carolina (1-10, 1-6) took a 7-0 lead with 2:56 left in the first quarter on Marvin Townes' 11-yard run. But Losman's second touchdown toss, a 27-yard strike Roydell Williams with 10:29 left in the second period, put Tulane ahead for good, 14-7.

Townes added a 36-yard scoring run with 3:32 left in the third quarter to cut Tulane's lead to 21-18. Townes rushed for 18 yards on 28 carries for the Pirates, who lost their fourth straight game.
