BLACKSBURG, Va., Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Grant Adams caught the go-ahead 64-yard scoring pass late in the fourth quarter Saturday as Boston College rallied past No. 12 Virginia Tech, 34-27.
Derrick Knight rushed for 197 yards and two scores for the Eagles (7-5, 3-4).
Playing their final Big East game before jumping to the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Hokies (8-3, 4-3 Big East) grabbed a 27-24 lead with 6 1/2 minutes remaining on a 13-yard run by Kevin Jones.
But Adams made a one-handed grab of a pass from Paul Peterson, broke a tackle at the 10-yard line and raced to the end zone less than two minutes later.
Knight, who became the leading rusher in school history, broke free for a 62-yard run on Boston College's next possession to set up a 29-yard field goal by Sandro Sciortino with 1:42 to play.
