NHL: Vancouver 3, Chicago 2 (OT)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Defenseman Sami Salo scored 2:59 into overtime Thursday night as Vancouver rallied for a 3-2 victory over Chicago.

The Canucks remained one of only two NHL teams to be unbeaten at home.

Salo got a backhanded pass from rookie Jason King at the top of the right faceoff circle and ripped a rising slap shot past goaltender Craig Anderson and into the top right corner of the net.

Ed Jovanovski and Bryan Allen also scored for Vancouver, which improved to 9


1 at GM Place. Eight of the Canucks' last nine goals have been scored by defensemen, who lead all NHL blue liners with 51 points in 20 games.

Mark Bell and Bryan Berard tallied in the first period for Chicago, which fell to 0-3-1-3 in its last seven games and has lost four straight at Vancouver.
