Davies shares LPGA lead

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Former LPGA Tour Player of the Year Laura Davies grabbed a share of the lead at the ADT Championship Friday by posting a 3-under 69.

One of the best and most recognizable female golfers in history, Davies claimed the last of her 20 LPGA Tour wins more than two years ago. With the emergence of players such as Annika Sorenstam and Se Ri Pak, Davies has become a forgotten woman.

Davies recorded a 36-hole total of 2-under 142. She was tied for the lead with Meg Mallon, although the top eight players on the board were within two strokes of each other.

Pak, Rosie Jones and Cristie Kerr were one shot off the lead while Sorenstam, Lorie Kane of Canada and Michele Redman were two back.

The top 30 money winners have combined for only four sub-70 rounds this week.
