Edmonton wins record 11th CFL Grey Cup

REGINA, Saskatchewan, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- The Edmonton Eskimos captured their record 12th CFL championship Sunday night, pulling away for a 34-22 victory over Montreal in the Grey Cup.

Edmonton (14-5) ended a 10-year title drought and avenged last year's 25-16 loss to Montreal in the championship game.

The last CFL team to win back-to-back Grey Cups was the Toronto Argonauts in 1996-97 under current Alouettes Coach Don Matthews.

Ricky Ray passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another score for the Eskimos, who held the Alouettes (13-6) to 149 total yards and a single point in the second half.

Montreal lost three fumbles and committed 13 penalties totaling 122 yards.

Jason Tucker won Most Outstanding Player honors after catching seven passes for 132 yards and two scores. He had touchdown receptions of 41 and 15 yards in the second quarter.
