NHL: Pittsburgh 2, Buffalo 1 (OT)

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Aleksey Morozov scored 3:09 into overtime Friday as Pittsburgh extended its unbeaten streak against Buffalo to eight games with a 2-1 victory.

After being outscored by a 25-7 margin in their last four games, the Penguins were staring at their fifth straight loss before defenseman Drake Berehowsky tallied midway through the third period.

In the overtime session, Morozov took a feed from Berehowsky at center ice and skated down the left side. From the top of the faceoff circle, the Russian winger unleashed a slap shot that banked off the left goalpost and into the net, denying Buffalo its first win over the Penguins since Oct. 14, 2001.

Sebastien Caron made 21 saves for his first win in five starts for the Penguins, who outshot their opponent for the first time this season.

Daniel Briere tallied for the Sabres.
