COL FB: Northern Illinois 40, Buffalo 9

BUFFALO, N.Y., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Josh Haldi tossed four first-half touchdowns Saturday afternoon as No. 23 Northern Illinois blasted Buffalo, 40-9.

Also for the winners, Michael Turner had two scoring receptions and ran for another score.

Northern Illinois (9-1, 5-1 MAC West) held a 10-9 lead before Haldi threw a 20-yard touchdown to Turner 4 1/2 minutes into the second quarter to start the rout.

Haldi went 14-of-25 for 261 yards, three touchdowns and one interception for Northern Illinois, which has won back-to-back games since a loss at Bowling Green.

Turner had 19 carries for 163 yards and P.J. Fleck had four catches for 142 yards.

Randall Secky completed 19-of-37 passes for 176 yards and two interceptions for Buffalo (1-10, 1-6 East), which is 5-29 in three seasons under Jim Hofher.
