NHL: Los Angeles 1, Tampa Bay 0 (OT)

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Ziggy Palffy scored with eight seconds left in overtime Thursday night to give Los Angeles its third straight win, 1-0 over Tampa Bay.

The game appeared headed for a bland scoreless tie, one that featured just two minor penalties.

But Palffy skated down the right side, moving around defenseman Pavel Kubina into the slot. As he tripped over Kubina's stick, Palffy slid the puck off goaltender John Grahame's stick and into the net.

It was Palffy's fourth goal of the season and first game-winner.

Roman Cechmanek made 30 saves for his second shutout of the season. The Lightning had six shots in overtime, including a wrister by defenseman Cory Sarich that handcuffed the goalie after it was deflected in traffic.

Tampa Bay has lost two in a row after opening the season with an eight-game unbeaten streak.
