Nagyova, Fedak victorious at Vovlo

PATTAYA CITY, Thailand, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Slovakian Henrieta Nagyova and Ukrainian Yuliana Fedak each had straight-sets wins Monday in the first round of the Volvo Women's Open.

Nagyova knocked off countrywoman and fifth seed Ludmila Cervanova, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6). The 24-year-old Nagyova has eight career titles with the last one coming at Warsaw in 2000.

Cervanova has lost in the first round in three of her last four tournaments.

Fedak cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 romp over Indonesian wild card Wynne Prakusya.

Thailand's Tamarine Tanasugarn is the top seed and Japan's Saori Obata is No. 2.
