Hall, Rolle disciplined by Big East

NEW YORK, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- As expected, the Big East Conference has suspended two players involved in a fight in Saturday night's Miami, Virginia Tech contest.

Defensive backs DeAngelo Hall of Virginia Tech and Miami's Antrel Rolle both were ejected late in the 31-7 Hokies' blowout of the then second-ranked Hurricanes.

The Washington Post reports that Hall, who had a 31-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the second quarter, will miss the first half of the Hokies' critical Big East battle against Pittsburgh on Saturday, and that Coach Frank Beamer was in the process of filing an appeal.

Hall is Tech's best cover cornerback and his absence could lead to a big day for Pitt wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who is a Heisman Trophy possibility and has a touchdown reception in a record 14 straight games.

Rolle will miss Miami's entire contest against Tennessee because, when punches were thrown, he was on the sidelines and not in the game.
