CALGARY, Alberta, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Jeff Heerema scored his first goal of the season 46 seconds into the third period Friday night to give St. Louis a 2-1 decision over Calgary.
Chris Osgood made 25 saves in recording the victory.
The Blues played without four injured defensemen, including reigning Calder Trophy winner Barret Jackman, who earlier in the day was ruled out for at least two weeks with a dislocated left shoulder.
Already without Al MacInnis, Alexander Khavanov and Christian Laflamme, the Blues had no trouble holding down Calgary's offense, which has totaled a Western Conference-low nine goals in six games.
Heerema put St. Louis ahead for good when he took a diagonal pass from Pavol Demitra and beat Jamie McLennan with a one-timer from the bottom of the left faceoff circle.
