COL FB: Michigan 31, Purdue 3

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Leon Hall, a freshman cornerback, had two interceptions and broke up a touchdown pass Saturday as No. 15 Michigan stifled No. 10 Purdue, 31-3, in a Big Ten matchup.

The Boilermakers (6-2), who were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten in conference play, have lost 16 straight games in Ann Arbor since their last win in 1966, when Bob Griese led them to the Rose Bowl.

Braylon Edwards caught a pair of leaping touchdown passes from John Navarre and fellow wideout Steve Breaston scored on a reverse for the Wolverines (7-2), who visit Michigan State next week in a battle for first place.

Michigan's defense contained Purdue's Kyle Orton, who had 411 yards in a 26-23 win at Wisconsin last week but was just 18-of-37 for 184 yards and two interceptions.
