VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A power-play goal by rookie Jason King with 13 seconds left Wednesday night gave Vancouver beat St. Louis, 3-2.
Two nights after recording a career-high three points in a 6-1 rout of Buffalo, King scored Vancouver's third power-play goal of the night and his third of the season.
The Canucks improved to 4
0 at GM Place for the first time since 1980-81 by going 3-of-9 with the man advantage. They earned the victory minutes after Blues captain Chris Pronger received a four-minute retaliation penalty late in the third.
St. Louis then took two more penalties and King cashed in, spinning around a defender in the slot and putting a backhander past goaltender Chris Osgood.
Rookie defenseman Christian Backman and Pavol Demitra tallied for the Blues, who were facing the Canucks for the first time since losing the Western Conference quarterfinals in seven games last season.
