NFL: Kansas City 17, Oakland 10

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- In the NFL's weekly Monday night special, Kansas City held on to its unblemished record with a 17-10 win over the aging Oakland Raiders.

The Chiefs built a 14-point lead with less than five minutes remaining before Oakland began a furious comeback.

Unproven Marques Tuiasosopo, subbing for the injured Rich Gannon, led the Raiders to a scoring drive, capped by a one-yard touchdown run by Zack Crockett with 2:25 remaining to make it 17-10.

Kansas City went three-and-out on its next possession and the Raiders got the ball at their own 6-yard line with 1:47 left. On the game's final play, Tuiasosopo hit wide receiver Tim Brown, who had his back to the goal line and was gang-tackled by safeties Jerome Woods and Greg Wesley inches from a touchdown.

The Chiefs now are 7-0, continuing the best start in the 43-year history of the franchise. Minnesota is the NFL's only unbeaten team at 6-0.

The defending AFC champion Raiders fell to 2-5.
