COL FB: Louisville 47, Tulane 28

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Eric Shelton rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns Friday night as Louisville remained unbeaten at home with a 47-28 Conference USA win over Tulane.

The Cardinals (6-1, 2-1 C-USA) improved to 4-0 at home, where their average victory margin is 20 points. They have won 17 of their last 20 home games.

Tulane (3-4, 1-3) entered with a high-powered offense featuring J.P. Losman, who had 19 touchdown passes in his first six games, and Mewelde Moore, Conference USA's leading rusher. But the Green Wave never recovered from a 21-0 deficit.

Shelton capped a six-play, 84-yard drive with his first touchdown, an eight-yarder midway through the opening quarter. Michael Bush added a 14-yard touchdown early in the second and Shelton's 11-yard run made it 21-0 with 11:28 to go before halftime.
