Huston suspended by Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Defensive back Kellen Huston of Nebraska has drawn a one-game suspension for his actions after last Saturday's loss to Missouri.

Huston, a junior from Ankeny, Iowa, decked a jubilant Missouri fan who joined in the on-field celebration by Tiger fans after the contest. A Columbia, Mo. television station caught Huston on tape punching the fan in the face as the Cornhuskers tried to leave the field.

"First, I would like to say that I sincerely regret what transpired Saturday evening in Columbia," Huston said after practice Tuesday. "My actions should not be a reflection on Coach (Frank) Solich, the University of Nebraska, or our football team. I would never intentionally bring harm to another individual."

"Kellen is very sorry that this unfortunate situation happened, and so are we," Solich said. "Kellen knows that we do not condone our players striking another person."

Huston will not play in this Saturday's game against Texas A&M.
