Massu beats Mathieu to win at Palermo

PALERMO, Italy, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Nicolas Massu of Chili overcame Paul-Henri Mathieu of France, 1-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-0), Sunday to capture the International Championships of Sicily.

Massu won his third consecutive tennis tournament after coming off victories at last week's Challenger in Szecin, Poland and at the ATP event in Bucharest, Romania the previous week.

Mathieu played in his third career final after Moscow and Lyon, and lost for the first time.
