The Devil Rays (62-99), baseball's youngest team, must win Sunday to avoid their third straight 100-loss season. The last team to lose 100 games in three straight seasons was the Toronto Blue Jays from 1977-79.

After starter Rob Bell allowed four runs and six hits in 2 1/3 innings, rookie Chad Gaudin (2-0) yielded four hits in 4 1/3 innings for his second career win. Lance Carter got his 25th save in 32 chances.
