PHOENIX, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Edgar Renteria became th first National League shortstop in 18 seasons to reach 100 RBI Saturday as he led St. Louis to a 3-2 victory over Arizona.
Renteria bounced into a forceout to drive in a run in the third inning, becoming the first NL shortstop to reach 100 RBI since Hubie Brooks accomplishd the feat for Montreal in 1985.

Eduardo Perez had a solo homer and Bo Hart a run-scoring single for the Cardinals.
Cardinals starter Sterling Hitchcock (5-1) gave up two runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Diamondbacks first baseman Mark Grace, who is retiring after the season, made his final start and went 2-for-3.
Chris Capuano (2-4) surrendered three runs and four hits in 4 1/3 innings.
