Miami 17, Buffalo 7

MIAMI, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Ricky Williams carried 42 times for 153 yards Sunday night and scored the clinching touchdown with 1:52 left, giving Miami a 17-7 victory over Buffalo.

The 42 carries were a franchise record for the Dolphins, who did not allow an offensive touchdown.

Williams wore down the Bills in the second half, when he carried 25 times for 108 yards. He sealed the victory by plowing into the end zone from a yard out to account for the final score.

Miami intercepted three Drew Bledsoe passes and limited the Bills to 118 total yards and eight first downs. The Dolphins (2-1) controlled the ball for 40:50.

Cornerback Nate Clements returned an interception 54 yards for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter for the Bills (2-1), who failed in their bid to start 3-0 for the first time since 1991.
