SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Kelly Holcomb engineered two in the fourth quarter touchdown drives Sunday in rallying Cleveland to a 13-12 win over San Francisco.
Holcomb had guided the Browns to just one touchdown in 11 quarters before shocking the 49ers, who had dominated the game through the first three periods.
Both teams are 1-2.
Holcomb's 11-yard touchdown pass to Andre Davis with 29 seconds left gave Cleveland the win.
Four field goals by Owen Pochman staked the 49ers to a 12-0 lead.
But Holcomb came alive in the fourth quarter, directing scoring drives of 75 and 91 yards. He capped the first one with a two-yard touchdown to Davis with 10:42 left, pulling the Browns within 12-7.
The winning drive took 17 plays and consumed nearly six minutes. Holcomb completed 12 of 13 passes on the march for 87 yards.
