Second round washed out on PGA Tour

FARMINGTON, Pa., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- The remains of Hurricane Isabel wiped out the second round Friday at the PGA Tour's 84 Lumber Classic.

First-round co-leaders Donnie Hammond and Gavin Coles posted 7-under-par 65s Thursday over the 7,276-yard Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa course.

Brent Schwarzrock, Grant Waite and Michael Clark II were in a three-way tie for third at 66. They were a shot better than 14 players, with another 16 at 4-under 68.

"We took on almost three inches of rain in the last 15 hours," course superintendent Brian Anderson said.

The second round will be played Saturday, when only 18 holes will be contested. A decision will be made Saturday as to when to complete of the final two rounds or if the event will be reduced to 54 holes.
