Oklahoma 37, North Texas 3

NORMAN, Okla., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Jason White threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns Saturday as top-ranked Oklahoma beat North Texas, 37-3.

White, a fifth-year senior who suffered season-ending injuries the last two years, appears to be back to full strength after undergoing knee surgery last fall. He completed 23-of-35 passes, including a 64-yard TD in the first half to Brandon Jones, as Oklahoma tuned up for next week's contest against Alabama.

Paul Thompson took over for White in the fourth quarter and tossed a seven-yard TD strike to Jejuan Rankins.

The Sooners held the Mean Green to 154 total yards. They were denied their sixth shutout of the Bob Stoops' era when Brad Kadlubar kicked a 34-yard field goal.

Trey DiCarlo kicked three field goals in the first half and White tossed two TD passes to give Oklahoma a 23-0 lead at intermission.
