Nebraska 17, Oklahoma State 7

LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Barrett Ruud returned a fumble 15 yards for a score and Nebraska forced four turnovers Saturday in a 17-7 Big 12 victory over No. 24 Oklahoma State.

Safety Josh Bullocks had a pair of interceptions for the Cornhuskers, who were a very mortal 7-7 last season, failing to win at least nine games for the first time since 1968.

After allowing a touchdown on Oklahoma State's first possession, Nebraska was able to shut down Oklahoma State, intercepting Josh Field three times.

Neraska took the lead when Ruud picked up a fumble by Tatum Bell and raced into the end zone with 10:05 left in the third quarter.

Jammal Lord of Nebraska carried 18 times for 90 yards and Judd Davies had 95 yards on 20 carries.
