Detroit 5, Cleveland 4

CLEVELAND, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Dmitri Young homered and Brandon Inge and Ramon Santiago had run-scoring hits in a four-run fourth as Detroit held on Tuesday for a 5-4 victory over Cleveland.

Detroit is the second-lowest scoring team in the major leagues but has picked up its offense recently, scoring 35 runs in its last five games. The Tigers are 64 games under .500 this season but 20-18 when scoring five runs or more.

Detroit rallied Tuesday against the Indians for their first winning streak since early July.

Cleveland had a 3-1 lead when Young opened the fourth with a homer off Billy Traber (6-7) to extend his hitting streak to 12 games. Carlos Pena hit a one-out double and advanced on an infield single by Warren Morris before Inge's single forged a 3-3 tie.

Detroit's Nate Cornejo (6-13) snapped a five-game losing streak.
