DENVER, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Peyton Manning passed for two touchdowns Monday as the Indianapolis Colts spoiled Jake Plummer's home debut with a 28-23 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Playing into the third quarter, Manning completed 15-of-22 passes for 157 yards, including touchdown strikes of 14 yards to first-round draft pick Dallas Clark and 57 yards to running back Brian Allen in the second quarter.

Allen also scored on a four-yard run in the third quarter, giving the Colts a 21-13 lead.

Signed as free agent in the offseason, Plummer went 15-of-22 for 205 yards with a touchdown and an interception. His TD was a 55-yard connection with Ashley Lelie in the second quarter.

Denver's Clinton Portis, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, carried 13 times for 49 yards.
