Cincinnati forward suspended one game

CINCINNATI, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Cincinnati forward James White has been suspended one game for taking part in the AND1 Mix Tape tour last month, the school announced Thursday.

A McDonald's All-American who transferred from Florida, White was set to become eligible in mid-December. The 6-7 forward will have to make his debut one game after the fall exam period ends.

White's participation in the Cincinnati leg of the AND1 Mix Tape tour, which blends basketball and hip-hop music, was deemed a violation of the NCAA's policy governing participation in unsanctioned events.

It was self-reported by the school.

In his only full season at Florida in 2001-02, White averaged 6.1 points and 2.9 rebounds. He left the Gators last November due to concerns over his playing time.
