SACRAMENTO, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Tangela Smith scored 18 of her 20 points after the break Friday night as Sacramento pulled away from Detroit, 75-63.

Sacramento, which took the lead for good at 33-31 on a layup by Smith just over one minute into the second half, held just a 46-42 advantage before embarking on a 10-0 run over the next four minutes.

Rookie Kara Lawson, who scored 14 points, ended the burst with a free throw with 8:34 to play.

Shock coach Bill Laimbeer was ejected for stepping onto the court during the run, but it did not fire up his team.
