Peeler, who has played in the NBA 11 years, will serve as a backup shooting guard to Doug Christie, and his open floor style is conducive with up-tempo point guards Mike Bibby and Bobby Jackson.

"We're really excited about adding Anthony to our backcourt," said Sacramento President Geoff Petrie. "He's an excellent long-range shooter who will be a terrific complement to Mike, Bobby, and Doug. He also gives us another good ballhandler. We feel Anthony will easily fit into our style of play."

The 6-3 Peeler, 33, was waived by Milwaukee last month after being acquired in a trade with Minnesota, has averaged 10.4 points in 712 NBA games over 11 seasons, and is the Timberwolves' all-time leader in three-pointers with 465.

Last season, he averaged 7.7 points and 3.0 assists per game.
