WAYNE, N.J., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Murad Muhammad, the promoter for Roy Jones, said Friday that the WBA

heavyweight champion has agreed to a fight with Corrie Sanders.

The bout is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 8 in Las Vegas.

"This is basically a miracle, because we were stuck for an opponent and we didn't want to lose our date," Muhammad said.

Sanders, a quick southpaw from South Africa, will not be an easy mark. He surprised the boxing world in March when he beat top contender Wladimir Klitschko in two rounds.

In March, Jones (48-1, 38 KO) became the second light-heavyweight champion to win a share of the heavyweight crown when he beat John Ruiz.

Jones, 34, has won 13 straight fights since his only loss, a controversial disqualification against Montell Griffin in March 1997. He avenged that decision by knocking out Griffin three months later and has not been tested since.

Sanders, 37, is 39-2 with 29 KOs. His only losses were knockout defeats to Hasim Rahman in 2000 and Nate Tubbs in 1994.
