CLEVELAND, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Coco Crisp's homer leading off the first inning Wednesday night started the Cleveland Indians to a 10-6 beating of Seattle.
Joel Pineiro (13-6) had been one of the hottest pitchers in the major leagues, bringing a 19-inning scoreless streak and eight-game winning streak into Wednesday night's start. But the Indians pounded him for seven runs and 10 hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
Jake Westbrook (5-6) benefited from an early offensive outburst and got the win despite allowing six runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. He walked none and struck out two.
Travis Hafner's three-run homer off Aaron Looper gave the Indians a 10-2 lead in the fourth.
