WNBA fines Shock Nolan, Liberty Robinson

NEW YORK, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- The WNBA fined Detroit's Deanna Nolan and New York's Crystal Robinson Monday for involvement in an altercation during a Friday game.

Nolan was fined $600 for taunting Robinson and poking her in the face midway through the second half of Detroit's 62-60 win. Robinson was fined $500 for shoving Nolan.

The 6-foot Nolan is averaging 12.2 points per game for the 18-6 Shock, who have won four straight games and lead Eastern Conference by five games. The 5-11 Robinson is averaging 10.9 points for the 10-13 Liberty, who are sixth in the seven-team East.
