The duo enjoy a two-shot advantage over a quartet containing Walker Cup teammates Luke Donald and Nick Dougherty of Britain, Englishman Steve Webster and Swede Carl Pettersson.

Second-round leader Dougherty struggled to a 2-over-par 74 as he saw his three-shot lead evaporate, while Pettersson set a new course record with his 66.

Scott had missed the cut in his last three events since finishing eighth in defense of his Scottish PGA Championship.
