Three-way tie at Scandanavian Masters

MALMO, Sweden, July 31 (UPI) -- Nick Dougherty fired a 5-under-par 67 Thursday to share the lead with Andrew Coltart and David Gilford after one round of the Scandinavian Masters.

It was the best round for the 21-year-old Dougherty since May, when he was diagnosed with glandular fever, an illness that causes fatigue. That fits with the lazy lifestyle of Dougherty, who said he slept more than 17 hours leading up to his round of golf.

"I am a walking mattress anyway," Dougherty joked.

Coltart moved into a tie for the lead by holing a 40-foot birdie at the ninth, his final hole on the Barseback Golf and Country Club course.

Tied for fourth at 68 were Maarten Lafeber, Kevin Na and Stephen Scahill. Carl Pettersen and Mathias Gronberg were among seven players at 69.
