ANAHEIM, Calif., July 27 (UPI) -- Tim Hudson posted his 12th career complete game and Scott Hatteberg homered twice Sunday as Oakland defeated Anaheim, 10-1.
Despite 11 victories in 15 lifetime decisions against the Angels Hudson (9-4) entered the game with an 0-1 mark in three meetings with Anaheim this season. Sunday, the righthander came within three outs of his second shutout of the campaign before Adam Kennedy opened the ninth with a home run.
Hudson, who tied Rick Langford for sixth place on Oakland's all-time wins list with 73, allowed four hits and two walks while striking out six. In his last seven starts, he is 4-1 with a 1.17 ERA.
Hatteberg opened the scoring with a one-out solo shot in the first before leading off the third with a blast for his third career multi-homer game and a 4-0 cushion.
