Rams ink McDonald

ST. LOUIS, July 20 (UPI) -- The St. Louis Rams have signed wide receiver Shaun McDonald, the first of their two fourth-round picks in the NFL Draft in June.

The team said McDonald signed a three-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatcher reported McDonald got $1.294 million, which includes a $324,000 signing bonus.

McDonald, chosen 106th overall, played in 37 games for Arizona State, starting 24 in his four seasons. He was an ALL-Pac 10 first-teamer both his junior and senior seasons.

McDonald had 156 receptions for 2,867 yards with 24 touchdowns in Sun Devils career. As a senior, he set school season-records with 87 receptions for 1,405 yards and 13 touchdowns.

With the Rams, he joins a crowded depth chart that includes Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Troy Edwards, and Terrence Wilkins.
