PHOENIX, July 20 (UPI) -- Katie Douglas scored 16 points and Nykesha Sales and Adrienne Johnson each added 15 each Saturday night as Connecticut eased past Phoenix, 75-67.
With the win, the Sun snapped a three-game losing streak.
Douglas hit a pair of three-pointers and Johnson added five points in a 17-4 run which helped the Sun open a 24-11 lead with 9:12 left in the half.
Phoenix closed the deficit to 37-31 at halftime, but the Sun opened the second half with a 19-8 run as Sales scored eight points. A basket by Taj McWilliams-Franklin capped the run, giving Connecticut its biggest lead at 56-39 with 12:38 left.
Phoenix got as close as 71-65 on a pair of free throws by Plenette Pierson with 29 seconds remaining.
The loss was the fifth straight for Phoenix, which slipped to a WNBA-worst 3-16.
