BALTIMORE, July 17 (UPI) -- Rodrigo Lopez pitched seven innings and combined with three relievers on a five-hitter Thursday night as Baltimore held off Anaheim, 2-1.

Lopez (3-5) allowed two doubles, three singles and three walks while striking out five, improving to 3-2 in seven outings since coming off the disabled list last month. He continued a trend for Baltimore starters, who have a 1.83 ERA in the last six games.
B.J. Ryan retired both batters he faced and Kerry Ligtenberg got the last out in the eighth before Jorge Julio pitched a hitless ninth for his 19th save in 24 chances.
