Montreal 7, Florida 1

MONTREAL, July 12 (UPI) -- Jose Vidro hit a three-run homer off Mark Redman in the first inning and Livan Hernandez went the distance as Montreal beat Florida, 7-1.

Redman (7-4) is the reigning National League Pitcher of the Week after beating Atlanta and Philadelphia. But the lefthander ran into trouble from the outset and lasted only three innings.

Montreal sent seven more hitters to the plate in the second and Cabrera's RBI single extended the lead to 5-0. Henry Mateo's single off Redman in the third produced the Expos' sixth run.

Hernandez (9-6) recorded his second straight complete game.
