ARLINGTON, Texas, July 11 (UPI) -- Raul Ibanez homered and had three RBI during an eight-run eighth Friday night as Kansas City crushed Texas, 13-3.
Kansas City's Kris Wilson pitched three perfect innings of relief.
Kansas City starter Runelvys Hernandez came off the disabled list before the game and made his first appearance in nearly two months.The Royals jumped to a 4-0 lead, but the Rangers pulled within one before Wilson started the fifth.
Wilson (4-0) remained unbeaten with his best relief appearance of the season, retiring the only nine batters he faced. He threw 19 of 25 pitches for strikes and had two strikeouts.
Kansas City put away the game after recording six hits and three walks in the eighth.Ibanez sparked the surge with a two-run homer and added an RBI single with two outs to give the Royals an 12-3 cushion.
