DEARBORN, Mich., July 10 (UPI) -- Gil Morgan played the final three holes in 4-under par Thursday and built a two-stroke lead with an 8-under 64 at the Senior Players Championship.
This is the third of five majors on the Champions Tour.

Morgan finished birdie-eagle-birdie, putting him within a stroke of the course record Jim Colbert set in 1995. It still was good enough for his lowest 18-hole total since April.
The 56-year-old Morgan is seventh in Champions Tour history with 21 titles, but he is winless in 15 starts this season. He has had a pair of runner-up finishes.
Tom Kite, Allen Doyle, Doug Tewell, Mike McCullough and Fred Gibson shared second at 66.
