NY Mets 7, Cincinnati 5

CINCINNATI, July 6 (UPI) -- Ty Wigginton hit a two-run double in the eighth inning and Tony Clark hit the go-ahead homer in the ninth as the New York Mets beat Cincinnati, 7-5.

Timo Perez, who homered and tied a career high with three RBI, delivered a run-scoring single and Wigginton tied it with a two-run double off closer Scott Williamson.

Tony Clark homered to lead off the ninth inning against Brian Reith (1-1), giving the Mets a 6-5 lead. Raul Gonzalez and Perez had back-to-back doubles later in the inning.

Jaime Cerda (1-1) pitched a hitless inning for the win and Armando Benitez worked a scoreless ninth for his 21st save in 27 chances.

Adam Dunn and Sean Casey hit solo homers for the Reds, who lost their fourth straight.
