Minnesota 9, Cleveland 2

MINNEAPOLIS, July 4 (UPI) -- Rookie Justin Morneau and Corey Koskie hit two-run homers Friday night as Minnesota snapped a four-game losing streak by downing Cleveland, 9-2.

The two homers were part of a wild game that included five ejections.

Morneau's homer staked the Twins to a 2-0 lead in the second inning. After Jody Gerut's RBI double halved the deficit in the third, Koskie responded in the bottom half as his homer gave Minnesota a 4-1 lead.

Following Koskie's homer, Cleveland starter Jason Davis (7-7) threw an inside pitch to Torii Hunter, who glared at Davis.

Both benches emptied, leading to the ejection of Hunter, Davis, both managers and Cleveland's C.C. Sabathia, the Indians' starter Thursday.

There was bad blood carrying over from Thursday's game, when Minnesota starter Kenny Rogers and Manager Ron Gardenhire were ejected after Rogers hit a batter.
