San Antonio and Indianapolis already had been chosen as hosts in 2004 and 2006.

"The men's committee members were pleased with each of the proposals that were submitted," said Committee Chairman Jim Livengood. "We are confident that these cities will be a gracious host for the Final Four."

The Alamodome also was awarded the 2010 women's Final Four, which will be played in Tampa in 2008 and St. Louis in 2009.

The Alamodome, former home of the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs, is becoming a favorite of the NCAA. By 2010, it will have hosted three men's Final Fours and one women's tournament in a 12-year span.
