SEATTLE, June 29 (UPI) -- Rondell White hit his second grand slam in 10 days and Keith Lockhart hit a two-run single in the ninth inning to give San Diego an 8-6 victory over Seattle.

On June 20, White belted a grand slam with two outs in the ninth, giving the Padres a 5-3 win over the Mariners.

In this one, White victimized lefthander Arthur Rhodes, who loaded the bases without recording an out after relieving Shigetoshi Hasegawa.

The blast, which knotted the game at 6-6, was the fourth career grand slam for White, who had four homers and 13 RBI in the six games against Seattle.

Rhodes (1-1) allowed a single by Sean Burroughs before being lifted for Nelson, who retired Gary Matthews Jr. but gave up a hit and a walk to load the bases again.
