GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J., June 28 (UPI) -- Angela Stanford shot a 4-under-par 67 Saturday, moving one stroke ahead of Juli Inkster, Diana D'Alessio and Michele Redman at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.
One day after matching the best round of her three-year career, Stanford moved to 10-under 132 as she seeks her first LPGA Tour win.
Inkster, who won this event in 1986 and 1988, matched Stanford's 67 while D'Alessio and Redman carded 5-under 66s.
Defending champion Annika Sorenstam of Sweden inched within four shots of the lead with a 66 as she seeks her third win in this tournament outside Atlantic City.
Michelle Wie, a 13-year-old coming off a win at the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, barely made the cut at 1-over 143.
First-round co-leaders Laura Diaz and Kris Lindstrom struggled. Diaz had 71, Lindstrom a 74.
