LONDON, June 28 (UPI) -- Maria Sharapova defeated 11th seed Jelena Dokic Saturday in a 6-4, 6-4 win, continuing her Wimbledon streak.
The 16-year-old Russian wrapped up the match in just 77 minutes and took the last spot for the round of 16.
The British Broadcasting Corp. reported that Dokic squandered two break points during the first set. After that, it was all down hill for the player representing Serbia-Montenegro.
Sharapova goes on to meet Svetlana Kuznetsova who defeated Emilie Loit of France 6-1, 6-2.
Serena Williams, the defending champion, overpowered 6-3, 6-1 fellow American Lisa Granville and will meet Elena Dementieva in the fourth round, the BBC reported.
Russia's Anastasia Myskina and France's Mary Pierce join the others with their wins over Conchita Martinez and Lisa Raymond.
