Baylor hoopster missing

WACO, Texas, June 26 (UPI) -- It has been confirmed by a school spokesman that junior center Patrick Dennehy of Baylor has been missing for more than two weeks.

According to the athletic department, Dennehy has not been seen or heard from since June 11. The Waco Police Department has asked anyone with information on Dennehy's whereabouts to contact its office.

"It's unusual for our staff to go more than a couple days without being in touch with one of our players," said Coach Dave Bliss, "so obviously we are concerned about Patrick. Patrick is an outgoing, friendly guy who always has a smile on his face. We look forward to him contributing a great deal this year."

The 6-10 junior from Santa Clara, Calif., sat out last season after transferring from New Mexico. He was expected to vie for playing time this fall.

Dennehy averaged 10.6 points and 7.5 rebounds at New Mexico in the 2001-02 campaign.
