OAKLAND, Calif., June 22 (UPI) -- San Francisco used five relief pitchers in the last three innings to hold off Oakland in a 6-4 win Saturday.
Rookie Jerome Williams started for the Giants and pitched 6 1/3 solid innings, giving up three hits, before the relievers took over. Williams (1-1)got his first major league win.

Oakland starter Tim Hudson (5-3) was pounded for six runs and
11 hits in seven innings.
The Athletics and Giants have split 34 regular-season meetings.
