Tampa Bay 11, NY Yankees 2 (1st game)

NEW YORK, June 17 (UPI) -- The Tampa Bay Devil Rays routed the New York Yankees, 11-2, Tuesday in the first game of a day-night double header.

Travis Lee and Marlon Anderson each homered and drove in three runs and Aubrey Huff had four RBI. Lee's two-run homer highlighted a five-run fifth inning and Anderson went 4-for-5, including a three-run shot in a five-run seventh.

The Devils Rays, who set season highs for runs and hits (18) in a nine-inning contest, won for only the third time in their last 15 games.

Tampa Bay did most of its damage against Jeff Weaver (3-6), who gave up six runs and 10 hits in five innings. Weaver fell to 0-4 in his last five starts.

New York managed just one hit - a home run by Jason Giambi in the first inning - in six innings against Jeremi Gonzalez (3-2).
